When it comes to the day of your move, things will most likely be a little stressful. With all the things you have to do, you want to make your life as easy as possible. Here are a few ways you can prepare to move. Make your moving day as stress-free as possible.

Pack Ahead of Time

I know this seems like a no-brainer, but it’s something that can easily be put off. You don’t want to wake up to the movers at your home and nothing packed! It not only makes your life crazy, but it wastes the movers time (and your money) as well. 

Once you have it all packed, have it easily accessible for the movers. If you put it in piles by the doors of the rooms, or all in one room, it will make their lives so much easier.

Use Packing Materials

I know it seems like it would be easier to just shove all your stuff in dressers and drawers and suitcases and bags so that you don’t have to buy boxes, but I promise that the little extra money spent on boxes will be worth it. If you weigh down your dressers and drawers with extra things, they may break under the weight. Without being properly packed, your belongings are also more likely to break. 

Now you don’t have to buy a plethora of bubble wrap. Just get a little bit. You can substitute towels and blankets for cushioning  your fragile items in boxes. That can save you a little money.

Be Awake and Ready to Go Moving Day

Make use of daylight hours on moving day. I know that means you may have to wake up earlier than normal, but it will be worth it. Be awake and ready to go before the movers get there. You can sleep in the next day in your brand new home! 

Expect the Unexpected

If you’re one of those that has to have everything planned out to a T, understand that little hiccups may happen on moving day. Don’t get discouraged or frustrated. Just take things as they come, problem solve and keep going.
