Paint

You can always repaint a room or completely repaint the interior of your home to give it that upgrade. If you don’t have the time or money for that, maybe just paint your baseboards. I know it doesn’t seem like much, but you’d be surprised how dirty those can get. Putting on a nice new coat of white paint can give it a clean, updated touch.  Be sure to wash those baseboards first to remove the settled dust before you paint.

Front Door

Paint the front door! Colored front doors are all the rave right now, and it’s easy and cheap to do. Find a color you love (be it red or a soft blue) and paint away. Add a nice wreath and door mat, and your home will scream “Come inside!”

Light Fixtures

Change up the light fixtures throughout your home. You may not be able to change all of them, but some good places to start are the kitchen, dining room and/or bathroom(s). Find something more modern and that adds a lot of light.

Change up the faucets in the kitchen and/or bathrooms and the knobs on the cabinets. Changing from an old brass look to a nice silver can make a world of difference!

Window Coverings

Remove those old floral drapes and go for something a little more modern. Whether you decide to go with a different fabric for curtains or go with wood blinds, pick something that will fit more with this decade. 

Whether you do all of these changes or just pick one or two, you can easily do some updates to your home for cheap. Maybe make it a goal to do one of these every few months.
